Caterpillars To Butterflies (Short, Promotional Doc, 2016)
In December of 2015, fellow filmmaker Brian Knight and I travelled to Kenya, just outside of Naivasha, to meet the students, staff, and faculty of the Light of Hope Home and School for Girls. We spent almost three weeks speaking to the girls (and the community) about confidence, leadership, education, family, and the importance of accepting your past in order to fight for a better future. While visiting these remarkable students, we shared some incredible experiences, including welcoming a new girl into the school, celebrating the success of the 2015 graduating 8th grade class, ringing in a new year full of new challenges and opportunities, and visiting the homes and families of some of the students.
